Prawn noodles are a favorite breakfast food of ours, and East Coast’s Beach Road Prawn Noodle House consistently ranks at the top of our go-to list as one of the best prawn noodles in Singapore. Although a bit out of the way, the trip down is always worth it.
About Beach Road Prawn Noodles
Their menu is pretty simple, with many variations of prawn noodles. You head to the counter to order and pay, then sit back and relax as the noodles are served to you. Service is brisk – we were there on a Sunday morning (9am) and managed to get our noodles with barely a 10 minute wait.

Pricey but Worth It
We went for one bowl of jumbo prawn noodles ($12) and some of the regular prawn noodles ($6).
The broth is something that Beach Road Prawn Noodles does perfectly. It is rich and savory, with added sweetness from the prawns. With the shallots and chili powder mixed in, the whole mixture is simply divine.
The noodles are just the right level of firmness, with a good level of bite and no sogginess at all.

Also, the jumbo prawns are huge! You really get what you pay for, which are 4 large, fresh, delicious prawns halves. I really love how the prawns are nicely split down the middle for easy peeling.

Besides the prawn noodles, a must-try are the traditional prawn fritters and other goodies from East Coast Ngoh Hiang, located right next to the prawn noodle store. Serving up more than 15 types of fritters, this makes for a lovely sharing plate.

Not only is there variety – it is affordable too! A large box like this of about 8 types of fritters cost us only $10. This was enough for about 4-5 people to share (on top of the prawn noodles that is).

The Verdict
Beach Road Prawn Noodle House has definitely become an institution at East Coast with loyal and regular fans. With the great quality, I feel that it does deserve the title of (one of) the best prawn noodles in Singapore for sure.
Do give it a try when you are in the east for a satisfying breakfast/brunch!
